Tip of the Week

There are many names for acid reflux disease, including Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease ("GERD"), and reflux esophagitis. The common symptom of this disorder is heartburn, but generally occurs on a frequent basis and is not always relived with antacids. This gastrointestinal disease is caused by the stomach acids refluxing into the esophagus and can eventually damage the esophagus. There are several practices one can do to relieve the symptoms of acid reflux. These include not lying down right after eating, avoiding troublesome foods, eating a healthy diet low in refined sugars, eating smaller meals, more often throughout the day and taking a digestive aid to improve the performance of your gastrointestinal system.
